Jose Djalo, a true inspiration and proof that fitness never ages, omgggg those abs :)
So we hit a certain age in our life, we might not have the energy, drive or stamina we had several years ago so we start saying oh well that what older age delivers!!! BSSSSSSSS!!! Who the heck said that fitness becomes a thing of the past once we've hit a certain age?? Why do we buy into the notion that fitness has an age, a size or a look?? Fitness is for EVERYONE!!!! Yep everyone, the health benefits are incredible even more so to keep your precious bodies healthy, strong, functional, vital and young!
I wanted to share with you some fitness and age Inspo! Meet Jose, if I told you Jose age you would think I'm lying, but I'm not I promise you! This is one fit, strong and healthy 60 year old! Yep you read right!! I know omggggg, if this doesn't inspire you well I'm done trying hehehe :)
Jose has loved sport from a young age and used to play soccer when he was younger, but it wasn't until he moved to Australia in 1986 that's when Jose first had access to a gym/weights and that's when he found his love for weight training and as you can tell that love has surely paid off. Jose loves fitness lives and breathes it and is always mixing his workouts up to keep them fun, challenging and exciting. Although Jose is a weight training lover he also mixes in some cardio for variation and because he loves his food, hehehe, hearing ya my friend!!
Why does Jose love fitness? It keeps him young, strong and fit, it challenges his body mentally and physically & he loves being around likeminded people, Jose doesn't miss a beat when it comes to fitting fitness into his daily life and without it he misses it! ( I totally get this hehehe), what's even better it's inexpensive and essential for a healthy balanced life, so what's not to love really??
So as if his body wasn't enough Inspo for you, this amazing Soul is studying cert 3 & 4 in fitness personal training to learn even more about fitness and how to expand his knowledge to create more health and fitness! Seriously AMAZING!!!! and this truly shows that age is just a number, if you have a dream, a goal or a vision just bloody Own it!! Don't let anything define you, especially not age, age hasn't defined Jose and if anything it has only encouraged him to be better without exception! Well done Jose, I hope you continue to Inspire many well into your 80's, 90's and beyond, thank you for sharing your passion and these amazing photos with us all :)
Here are a few extra reasons fitness is essential for ageing healthfully!
*helps to strengthen bone density which weakens as we age and helps to protect against osteoporosis
*Gives you stronger bones, muscles and a strong core which helps your stability & can help you to avoid injury
* It's essential for overall health, wellbeing and mental health, if fitness is a part of your daily life it helps to keep blood pressure down, disease's such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers have been proven to be reduced with having fitness as part of a healthy lifestyle. As we know our metabolism slows down with age so it makes it easier to gain weight so keeping active is essential to being in a healthy weight range, and what I find the most essential is the impact being active has on our mental health, it helps to ease depression and anxiety creating feel good hormones and it gives you a true sense of purpose!
So yeah if all your excuses out weigh these amazing health benefits well so be it! However it's never to late to start moving that beautiful bod of yours, find something you enjoy and get moving, it will enrich your life and possibly extend it too. Let Jose Inspire you to start making the change for health and fitness at any age, thanks again Jose, and with that said I best hit the gym myself, I've got some abs to create ;)
