The all or nothing or the "F" it approach

My golly gosh this was so me on every single diet or program I attempted so I’m fully pumped and focused yep I’m going to stick to “this one” this time I’ve finally found the one I’ve been searching for to fix me wooooo!!

So I clear out the cupboards, fridge of all of the forbidden foods and stock them up with everything the diet tells me to and away I went on another weight loss miss adventure. Day one I’ve got this and I’m going ok this could last a week or a few weeks then I’d have a little slip up or a bad day or it was girly time then BOOOOMMMMMM hellooooo cadbury’s I’d inhale a chocolate bar faster than I could even say back away women, then the feelings of guilt would arise, you are shit, you can’t stick to anything, you have no will power, the feelings of guilt would overwhelm and plague me, no actually consume me, I deprived and restricted myself for long enough than what I like to call "F it" approach began, F this restriction, F this diet, F this boring food and F myself because yep once again I FN failed and then I’d eat everything I told myself I couldn’t eat whilst following that particular diet and usually more :(

You see what I’m getting at here? You tell yourself NO I can’t have this or that and Instantly you want it or crave it! why? because we all have a little rebel inside of us, I think I was given a little bit extra rebel at times but hey that's a whole other article hehehehe :)

This little rebel like a child will have a tantrum and believe me it will get it’s own way in the end, I don’t care how good your will power may be, not honouring the rebels needs is a losing battle that just makes you more stressed and defeated. So why do we repeatedly treat ourselves so mean? Because we’ve been told that we must be on a strict misleading diet to lose weight and exercise excessively to get results.

I’ve followed this way of thinking for years and it only got me larger and more unhealthy.

Balance baby balance, it’s all about balance.

Eating well is essential for weight loss and wellness, it’s the only thing that will help you to keep the weight off in the long term, I believe in nourishing yourself and still enjoying your favourite foods and treats, in doing this you won’t feel like you are missing out or depriving yourself, and best of all you won’t have those F it tantrums, when you bring balance to eating there’s no guilt or feelings of shame, it’s all about knowing yes you must eat better to lose weight and to maintain weight loss, yet honouring those days or meals when you go a little off track, we all do it, you are human so be kind to yourself.
